JVL Photography was founded in early 2005 by Jim Van Luven with a focus on wedding photography. With the success of his wedding photography, he grew into a small studio in late 2009 and expanded his services to also include High School Senior and portrait photography, including maternity, newborn and infant photography, as well as individual and family portraits.
Jim Van Luven has been shooting digital since 1996, and in addition to his own studio, also works with several other Metro Detroit area photographers and studios, shooting approximately 40 weddings a year.
Jim is an active member of both the Professional Photographers of America and the Detroit Professional Photographers Association, which voted him 2nd place for wedding photography in their 2009 print folio competition.
